De Beer has put together a nice Gluten-free package for its beer fans. A varied selection, from blonde to IPA.
Gluten-free beer can be brewed by using other grains, such as buckwheat. Another way is to remove gluten from the beer. With this technique, brewers add a certain enzyme (Brewers Clarex) that cuts the gluten-containing proteins into small pieces and makes the beer clear. These pieces are removed during the filtration process.
Dutch Celiac Association
Because we are not experts in this field, we follow the guidelines of the Dutch Celiac Association (NCV) and recommend only consuming specialty beers that have a gluten-free logo. This applies to both naturally gluten-free beer and deinduced beer.
